In
India, Students are protesting against the UGC revised guidelines. World
Student Union organized the India’s first ‘Virtual rally of students’. In this
virtual rally, Student leaders questioned the UGC and spoke to keep continues
fight against injustice.
World
Student Union has planned a series of virtual rally with the aim to reach till
three to four thousands students of Haryana. After this, Organization will reach
to ten thousands students with the movement against UGC with other way.
In
first session on Monday evening, President Ashish Rajput and WSU state
executive member and student activist Sachin kaushik addressed the students. In
president address, Ashish Rajput highlighted the nationwide protest as historical
struggle with slogan “sadak se Supreme Court tak” means Struggle from road to Supreme
Court. He added ‘A hasty decision has been taken by UGC without any solid reason’.
Organization has accepted the online exam and has proposed the Assignment work,
Report making, Open book exam as the way to conduct exam for professional
courses. For other courses, Organization
has suggested the mass promotion as pandemic situation is not under control and
absence of resources for online exam for all students. WSU is fully against the
offline exam.
Sachin
kaushik in his address questioned over the cancellation of state government
decision of general promotion and told about the Students petition in Supreme
Court. ‘Who will take responsibility of students, if he or she become corona positive
because of exam? He further added.
State
Joint secretary Priya briefed about the organization strategy that organization is raising voice against the exam till 29th May. Initially, organization
raised concern about student’s health at state level and contacted Chief Minister
and Deputy Chief Minister to take decision in student interest. After it, State
government announced the mass promotion to all students including final year.
But now our movement is against UGC. University Grant Commission has decided to
conduct final year exam bypassing the state government.
