Despite the efforts to resolve border dispute between India and China at
military and diplomatic level, the situation is not easy now.
One Indian
Army officer and two
jawans have martyred after clashes took place between India
and China at the Galwan
Valley region in Ladakh.
The incident took place on Monday night. This is the first instance of
casualty between the two sides since 1975.
The Indian Army confirmed the developments and has issued a statement in
the matter. "During the de-escalation process underway in the Galwan
Valley, a violent face-off took place yesterday night with casualties on both sides.
The loss of lives on the Indian side includes an officer and two soldiers. Senior
military officials of the two sides are currently meeting at the venue to
defuse the situation," stated the official statement by the Indian Army.
Reports say that there are more casualties in china sides. Still the
government and Chinese army has not confirmed but reports say that more than
four soldiers have been killed and eleven injured.

There has been tension in the Galwan area for the first time since 1962 and that too at a time when the LAC is clearly defined. In 1962, China launched an attack on India across its Eastern and Northern borders. One of the main reasons that triggered the war between the two sides was the construction of a road between Xinjiang and Tibet.

station has been cancelled in the wake of the India-China clashes.
