On
Monday, Indian government ordered to ban 59 Chinese apps with immediate effect.
After this step, cold war between India and China has entered in new phase. The
move is part of the tit-for-tat retaliation after the Indian and Chinese
militaries clashed earlier this month. In a clash, about forty three Chinese soldiers
were killed and twenty Indian soldiers were martyred.
The
Chinese apps were “stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users’ data in an
unauthorized manner to servers which have locations outside India” Ministry of
Electronics and Information Technology said in a statement Monday.
The
compilation of these data, its mining and profiling by elements hostile to national security and
defense of India, which ultimately impinges upon the sovereignty and integrity
of India, is a matter of very deep and immediate concern which require emergency
measures” the statement added.
Cyber
Security analysts have warned in the past a about the risks Chinese apps and telecom
companies may pose, citing the country’s National Intelligence Law. The law
holds Chinese companies legally responsible for providing access, cooperation
or support for Chinese intelligence gathering.
The same
argument has been at the center of a campaign to persuade Western countries not
to allow Chinese companies to build their next-generation 5G wireless networks.
Monday’s
move comes shortly after India’s government quietly told two state-run
telecommunication firms to stop using Chinese equipment and instead use local
providers. And in April, the government passed legislation requiring government
approval for any investment from Chinese entities.
Today,
India China clashes have warmed the environment and have created the situation
of undeclared war. With orange alert in Ladakh – Tibet border area, India has
deployed tanks, thousands of troops, air defense system and much more secretly
work is going on. Indian Airforce is also active in region. In this cold war of
21st century, India is not alone against the China. U.S.A, Japan and
Australia triad is also working with India to reply any misadventure of china
in region. USA foreign minister has already said that USA is withdrawing troops
from Europe to deployment in South China Sea. In recent tour of India’s defense
minister to Russia, India has ordered Fighter planes and much more, to make
Russia in own side.
Now it
would not be wrong to say that India has hit back China and has launched new
war, different to traditional war. Blocking the Chinese firm to investment, by
reducing the import, cancelation of Chinese project and now ban on apps, is the
new strategy of India and will cause huge economic loss to China.
